David Naidu - Guitarist On Wheels

My Musical Background

My own study of the GUITAR began at 8 years of age, under the wonderful instruction of Maestro Diego Corriente, still teaching and performing in San Diego, California.  With very young students of my own, I look back and appreciate his skill and patience shown to a young Long Island 'wannabe' guitarist.

Ever since, 'fingerstyle' guitar has always held a special place in my heart -- even during my teen years as I delved into playing electric guitar in various bands (it was the "Classic Rock" era after all!).  It was during high school when I began to study classical guitar very seriously with virtuoso guitarist, Michael Newman, the youngest classical guitarist to debut at Carnegie Hall.

After high school, I was accepted to the prestigious Rutgers University Mason Gross School of Music where I earned my Bachelor's degree.  During these intense years of study, I performed often with other string players, flautists, and even a harpsichordist to perform an all-Bach program.

Always striving for improvement, I also studied with guitar legend, Alice Artzt in Princeton, NJ as well as Dr. Stephen Robinson at Stetson University, DeLand, FL.

Throughout the years I have taken numerous masterclasses with some of the world's greatest classical guitarists including Roland Dyens, Jason Vieaux, Benjamin VerderyDenis Azabagic, Michael Chapdelaine, Antigoni Goni, Dale Kavanagh, Eduardo Fernandez, Elena Papandreou and Frederic Hand.

I guess I should  introduce the MetroWest Studio groupie, Scrunchy...... not really much of a direct musical influence, but she does have some say over repertoire selection by bodily obstruction!
